What "the Woods" is all about

For over 60 years, Westminster Woods has been dedicated to the glory of God. Our program is designed to give campers the opportunity to draw near to the Lord, in a place set apart.

Growing in Faith at Westminster Woods

Sharing the gospel is our biggest goal. Campers are encouraged to engage in several different styles of worship. Everyone at camp begins their day with morning devotions, which allows for either individual or small group Bible study and reflection. Both morning and evening chapel includes services that allow for campers to connect with God through song, prayer, teaching, journaling, and more. It is powerful, moving, and so much fun! Each chapel service is followed by cabin devotions, encouraging quiet reflection and conversation about the lesson. Most evenings end with an outdoor worship service. Campers often identify these spiritual times as their favorite part of camp!

Fun at Westminster Woods

Each day is filled with fun, wild, and crazy games and activities that leave campers overcome with laughter and a desire to attend camp again and again. They have the opportunity to choose from various activities like swimming, canoeing, paddleboards, hikes, gaga ball, and basketball. We also offer indoor activities like board games, crafts, friendship bracelets and many others. In addition, our incredible recreation staff organizes a ton of awesome camp-wide activities each day that promote a sense of fellowship and community.

Safety at Westminster Woods

Each staff member at Westminster Woods is selected for their Christian commitment, their love of youth, and their desire to share their beliefs. The summer staff undergoes intensive staff training for two weeks prior to any campers’ arrival. This training includes spiritual development and mentorship practices, as well as emergency procedures, how to work safely with children, safety protocols, and first aid. While encouraging campers to learn and grow, camp counselors come alongside the campers to serve as good role models by providing strong examples of faith, accountability, and friendship. Their love of Christ and how that influences the guidance they provide seeks to make each camper feel loved. Westminster Woods strives to provide an environment that is safe emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
